A bit description about Broken Bones:

Broken Bones are a street punk and crossover thrash band with a distinct sound that is heavily influenced by other UK82 punk bands such as Discharge, and in later cases, crossover thrash.They are from England and were formed by guitarist Tony "Bones" Roberts in 1983 after he left Discharge. The original lineup was Tony's brother Tezz (also a former member of Discharge) on bass, Nobby as the vocalist and drummer Bazz. Their first single release was the January 1984 "Decapitated". The follow up single "Crucifix" was released in May of 1984. Tezz left the band to join U.K.Subs and friend and roadie Oddy took over on bass. This new line-up recorded the bands first album "Dem Bones", and toured Europe & USA.

Oddy then left to join Conflict, and Tezz resumed bass playing duties, and the F.O.A.D. album was released.

The band then had several line-up changes with Nobby leaving to live in America and Tezz once more departing. Oddy returned to play bass and sing. The band released the "Seeing Thru My Eyes" ep with this 3-piece line-up. Eventually the band ground to a halt.

Bones reformed the band with a new line up of Cliff on drums, Quiv on vocals and Darren "Thrasher" Harris (of Exit Condition) on bass. This is where the band took a more metal turn with their music, releasing "Losing Control". Two more albums were to follow with the 12 inch release "Religion is Responsible" and another album "Stitched Up". After these albums release, the band's touring and recording fell into remission.

In 1998 Broken Bones reformed. Bones as ever on guitar, Quiv still on vocal, Oddy returned to his old berth on bass, and Dave on drums.They released their first studio album in 8 years, "Without Conscience" in 2001 and in 2004, they released "Time For Anger, Not Justice". Both albums bring the band back to their roots as they play the brand of hardcore they're most well known for. They still gig and tour regularly to this day. They were the last band to play before 2006's ill-fated British Invasion concert in San Bernardino was shut down.

"Gallery are a Sludge/Crust Metal band from Los Angeles and crusty is the best way to describe how they do things. Throaty yells,..screaming,..tortured vocals and filthy bombastic riffs are here in abundance. Songs are mostly of the mid-tempo variety and have that patented Black Sabbath style guitar attack while keeping the intensity level at a high. This is a great sounding demo, raw but heavy guitars and pounding drums with crashing cymbals. Take a listen to tracks like "Soulkrusher" and "House Of Cards" for evidence of some high energy Sludge, there is a certain urgency in their playing. As well as the tracks I have already mentioned, "War Drums" is another track to take note of along with the instrumental "Know No Wrong" which is actually my favorite track on the demo. This is a real neck snapping exercise in Sludge Metal chaos and the spoken word samples are incredibly well placed. The song has a swaggering groove that doesn't let up throughout its almost 7 minute running time. I think it should be pointed out that this demo is up for free download from their Myspace page and it needs to be downloaded and played at loud volumes on your home stereo to fully appreciate how heavy the band really is. The songs lose a lot of their power played from the Myspace site but burn this on a CD and crank it up. This is one of the best free demo's on offer going around at the moment and even if it wasn't a freebie, I would recommend you seek this one out. Its 28 minutes, no weak tracks and contains some real intense Sludgy Metal played with some real power and passion. The artwork is also great, made by the bass player from the band and the download also comes with the lyrics which are dark and pessimistic which just adds to the intensity of the tunes. Yeaaahh..they came agains after twenty years.It’s always a big gamble coming back after twenty years.After hearing the opening track P.K from Mammutation I was very hopeful. It’s difficult to believe this is the same Fjalle. His voice no longer sounds like a rabid teenager lashing out at society, but as a life-hardened, pissed off working class man who can’t stand the state of the world. And that pretty much sums up the development of the band. They have twenty years more life experience to draw influence from for their anger, and as a whole the sound has matured a lot. The production is cleaner complaining, and heavier, the riffing might be a bit more rock-influenced at times (albeit no way near any kind of Motörhead-crustcore) and the musicality has improved. There are a few moments when you get classic Moderat Likvidation vibes, but otherwise it’s not really the same thing. Not in a bad way, it feels like instead of trying to recapture the old atmosphere and reigniting the old flame they’ve accepted that it’s another band today, and are delivering crust as they want it. The atmosphere of Mammutation is still pure Scanian hatred, and as long as you know some Swedish there are tons of moments where you’ll want to shout along. Tracks like Britta, Mammut and the previously mentioned P.K are really killer tunes. And it’s frenetic old school hardcorepunk, all the way through. Whereas Hål i marken slow things down and go for a more downtuned mood. It’s a solid album filled with shout along-friendly passages, ferocious vocals and mosh-friendly beats. And if you can just accept the fact that this isn’t the teenagers they were back in the eighties I’m sure you’ll love the album.
